Ariah Burrell joined the Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center in November 2021 as an Outreach Services Coordinator for the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) Implementation III grant. In this role, Ariah will perform a variety of routine and complex administrative duties to support the functions of the NE KY AHEC and the Coalition grant projects. As a project staff member for the Northeast Kentucky Substance Use Response Coalitoin, Ariah will be coordinating community recovery events, expanding and implementing Prescription Drug Take Back locations, Mental Health First Aid trainings, presenting youth prevention education lessons to local school districts, and providing support to Coalition members in carrying out project activities within the service area. Ariah will also assist with similar task on the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) Implementation II grant and the Rural Health Network Development Grant. 

Ariah earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in health promotion with a minor in public relations and event planning from Morehead State University in 2020. She is currently attending the University of the Cumberland’s to obtain her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
