KaSandra started her career with the Northeast Kentucky Area Health Educational Center (NE KY AHEC) as an intern in 2012. Shortly thereafter, she was hired as an Educational Assistant then promoted to Education Coordinator and is now the Assistant Director. She has been a part of the NE KY AHEC continuing education department for approximately 8 years, specializing in the development of healthcare-related programs for existing medical providers. KaSandra is the current President-Elect and Co-Chair of Education for the Kentucky Rural Health Association. She is also the Vice-Chair for the Young Professionals Association, and serves on the Executive Committee for ROWAN 365 (Morehead, KY). KaSandra is also on the 2021 NAO Planning Committee and the NAO Conference Sponsorship Subcommittee. In addition, she was the previous project director on a HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Response Program-Medication-Assisted Treatment Expansion and currently serves as Co-Project Director on the HRSA Rural Health Network Development Program and Project Director for the HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Response Program – Implementation jail re-entry project; subsidies all focused on addressing the northeastern Kentucky’s opioid crisis. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Morehead State University, she plans to continue her education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Health Care Administration. In her spare time, KaSandra enjoys traveling, reading, exercising, and spending as much time as possible with her family.
Fun Fact: At 4 years old, KaSandra spent her time with a Traveling Carnival making sweet treats, and was known as the Kotton Kandy Princess
