Continuing Education

The NE KY AHEC Continuing Education Division provides quality, pertinent continuing education activities to health care providers throughout the service region. We are accredited providers of Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Pharmacy Education, with access to accreditation for numerous other health care-related professions.

CME

The Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center is accredited by the Kentucky Medical Association (KMA) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians in the form of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit TM. CME is available to physicians, physician assistants, advanced registered nurse practitioners, and other health care professionals.

ACPE

The Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. In 2024, we were re-accredited for the next six years. We provide educational opportunities to both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Provider # 0193.

Other Accrediting Bodies

The Northeast KY AHEC has developed working relationships with various universities and other institutions to assist in facilitating credit for other licensing bodies, including: Kentucky Board of Nursing, Kentucky Board of Social Work, Kentucky Board of Physical Therapists, Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care, and more.
