BLS Check-offs

The written exam (Part 1) will be completed online and the check-off (Part 2) portion will be scheduled through the AHEC office. The online portion cost $37.00, to be paid by debit or credit card. After completing the written exam, visit www.neahec.org/BLSregister to schedule a 30-minute testing window.

The cost of the hands-on check-off is $20.00. Cash, check, or money will be accepted for payment.

Directions for accessing the Online BLS Course

1. Step 1: Visit www.onlineAHA.org. Register or login if you have an existing account.
2. Step 2: Once logged-in, select “Courses” under BLS-Basic Life Support, “HeartCode BLS.”, select add to cart.
3. Step 3: Enter payment information.
4. Step 4: Your purchased course will appear in “my courses.” You are now ready to begin BLS for Healthcare Providers Online Part 1.
5. Step 5: When finished, print statement of completion with certificate number. Bring this to the check-off portion of the course.

Part 1 of the BLS course is offered by the American Heart Association and not the Northeast KY AHEC. The cost of Part 1 is $37.00. After Part 1 is activated, it will expire in 12 months. Part 1 is a self-paced course; you can enter and exit a course as needed.

If you are not active in the course for 30 minutes, your user session will time out. When this happens, you will see a message that your session expired. Simply log-in again and return to the course. You will see all your completed exercises have been saved.

You must complete your skills session within 60 days of completing Part 1 online. Only after completion of Parts 1 and 2 will you be awarded your BLScards. Please note that you can access this course from any computer that has internet access by going to https://elearning.heart.org.

2025 Check-off Testing Windows

Testing Windows are available from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm on the following dates:

• February 11
• April 8
• June 10
• August 13 &19
• October 14
• December 9

Check-offs will be held in room 208 at the Center for Health Education & Research in Morehead, KY.
