Health Opportunities Workshop

What is HOW?

HOW is an annual event hosted by the Northeast Kentucky AHEC in Morehead, Kentucky. Each March, high school students from across our 17-county service region come together to participate in this dynamic, hands-on career exploration experience. Participants have the opportunity to connect with representatives from hospitals, colleges and universities, as well as a variety of healthcare and community organizations. In addition to building these valuable connections, students explore a wide range of career pathways through interactive workshop sessions, including suturing, dissection, and medical simulations.

When is HOW?

HOW is held every March in Morehead, Kentucky.

School Registration

Teachers and counselors may register their students to attend HOW as a field trip. Registration for HOW 2027 will open on September 15, 2026.

Individual Registration

Students also have the opportunity to attend HOW independently and are eligible to receive a school excuse for their participation.

Exhibitors

Exhibitors may register for free. Registration will be open on September 15, 2026.
