Lakyn Newcomb joined the Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center in August 2022 as a Coordinator for Health Careers Education with a focus on the newly established Nursing Pipeline. In this role, Lakyn will work directly with those involved in the nursing field to further promote accesses within the field using various NEAHEC resources.

Lakyn was born and raised in Pikeville, Kentucky and graduated from Morehead State University in Fall of 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in the field of Health Promotion. Lakyn currently resides in Morehead. In her free time, you can find Lakyn exploring many of the trails/outdoor adventures that the Daniel Boone National Forest has to offer and spending time with her friends, her family, her Border collie mix Bentley, and her ginger-cat Rufus.

Fun fact: Lakyn loves to cook/bake in her free time and has even won a few chili cook-offs and a bake-off during her college years.
