On December 1, the Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center, in conjunction with the Division of Family Resource & Youth Services Centers and the Kentucky Office of Rural Health, hosted the Cost of Poverty Event (COPE)! This simulative experience, which was tailored to fit the unique economic struggles of Northeastern Kentuckians, included participants and volunteers from all across our service region. Designed to increase awareness and empathy, COPE featured participants roleplaying as families living in poverty, and volunteers playing the part of community resource leaders. Fun yet insightful, COPE 2022 had over two-hundred participants total!
If you’re interested in hosting a simulation in your area, reach out to Think Tank — you won’t be disappointed!
