Matthew Porter, MA, promoted to Outreach Services Coordinator!

Matthew Porter, MA, joined the Northeast AHEC in September 2022 as an Educational Assistant for Health Careers Promotion and as of today (Feb. 20, 2023) has accepted the position of Outreach Services Coordinator for the Northeast AHEC and the Northeast Kentucky Substance Use Response Coalition.

Matthew is from Morehead but has spent much time in neighboring cities Olive Hill and Sandy Hook. He attended Morehead State University where he majored in English and Philosophy, and he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2018. The following semester, he enrolled in MSU’s graduate program in English, and in 2020 graduated with a master’s degree.

"I am very excited for this important opportunity,” Matthew said. “I take pride in being able to serve and assist my fellow northeast Kentuckians who have been impacted by a substance use disorder. I am confident that we will make significant and positive changes as we promote resources for prevention, treatment, and recovery."
